There was a sailor in the tavern bragging about his journeys. But no matter how many miracles he witnessed, he always marveled at people he met.
There was a greedy king who kept all of his gold hidden. And in this kingdom, the sailor met a generous tavern hostess. The man fancied her and tipped her, but the woman returned the most of it. The hostess said she did not need more than she earned for an honest living.
The sailor never insisted. He rushed to the city and bought her a nice ring, what a happy face he had! You know these strangers who travel a lot: they spend their whole lives in the sea, but then it’s time to go to the land and settle down.
“What about us then?”
“We are destined to travel until the end of times.”
