Amalia was trying to fish out bundles of wormwood from the cauldron, squinting and tilting her head away from the steam. She was sure this thing wouldn’t work.
Each potion she made was quite explosive. A patient elderly sorcerer who happened to teach her sighed and held up a saucer for the unwanted ingredient. Like father, like son is what people say, same with potions. Amalia was young and impulsive, so were the recipes she created. Even cotton candy made by her had a spicy taste.
“Where are you going?” Amaila asked seeing that the old man was putting on his hat. He was ready to leave because potions were not the thing Amalia needed to master — the patience was lacking.
In the last moment, before Amaila put copper into the cauldron, the Master had managed to move to a safe distance. A loud bang was heard, followed by the girl’s desperate curses. He smiled and waited for a few moments before getting back to his novice. Well, he was once young too, and he could see how talented Amalia was.
“Next time, you’ll brew a firework potion! If a thing should explode, let it be graceful!”
